Request for Proposals (RFP’s) Process:
We as Allies believe that we can not enter a community and tell the community what is best for them; instead we
promote and foster an environment where the community give input and decides for itself what is best for them. For that we
reason we went through the Request For Proposals process. We sent out a form to one hundred Logan Square residents who would
be able to submit an idea or proposed project that they had in mind. We received back three project proposals.
Host Committee Process:
We also understand the need for continuous community input about what it is that
we are doing and how we are doing it in the community. We went through a process of selecting community residents of Logan
Square, members of organizations, youth, and church leaders to serve on our committee. They ultimately heard out the project
and decided which project would best serve the youth of the Logan Square community.
Phase II Logan Square Team Service Project Role:
Our role as second year allies is to find, implement, and assist with coordination of the mural project. We will
also assist with brief fundraising as need for the immediate implementation of the mural project. In order to accomplish our
goals we have formed four committees:
TSP Committees
Youth Outreach:
Involve the youth in the project to share the project responsibilities; promote the project to youth
Promotion: Promote
the project to the community (residents, schools, orgs) to find support for the project
Wall: Find a wall
by canvasing the neighborhood for walls and talk to owners, and researching liability issues
Fundraising: Find donations (paint, masks, etc.) and plan the
fundraiser in May
Phase III Logan Square Team Service Project Role:
Next years Ally class will work on making the project sustainable. This will be accomplished by locating funds to continue the program, finding an organization to house the
program, finding individuals interested in continuing the program, and establishing a structure so that the program continues.
